Games That Changed Everything

Games that are top of the top. Played too much, like too much, games not just to pass the time, but ones you have gone out of the way to play. Having worked in the oilfield, I've seen even the manliest manly man has one or two. Usually a GTA in their case. Anywho, I've posted some of these before, but tough, it's a new forum.

 

 

 

 

 

 

What can I say, as far as I can remember it's the first RPG I've ever played in my life, and it's still awesome. Dragon Quest might have been the first big international JRPG but the difference in quality between the two is huge (not the DQ series, but the first game was very primitive) and Final Fantasy was arguably just as influential as its rival. I still respect the game's flow (not grindy, optional shit that feels worth doing, etc) and minimalism in terms of character interaction and story.

Wolfenstein 3d (also by id Software) might be a year older, but it was DOOM that really crystallized the genre.

Probably because unlike Wolfenstein it wasn't all on one plain, you could climb stairs, etc.

Guess should post WHY I posted Gun and MKD. Gun is GTA in the old west, and MKD has a mode called conquest where you wander around 6 realms in the MK universe, both games are open world, both have lots to do after beating story mode, and one thing I love more than anything in a game is the ability to freely explore a virtual world I'm interested in. I fucking love the old west (As Jordan and Melissa are well aware) and I love the 2000's era MK universe, after 4 but before the stupid reboot.

Gives Mario 64 a run for its money, and easily better than the other 3D Marios:

Resident Evil 4 is still the best Resident Evil game of all time and I still replay it.

Easily the best.

I wish they would just remake every Resident Evil game from the ground up in RE4 style.
